Vijay is a story about various characters that are bound by relationships of love and friendship. How they become foes and take up weapons against each other.
When Arjun (Anil Kapoor) and Vicky (Rishi Kapoor) meet, they are oblivious to the fact that they are cousin brothers. They meet as friends until one day the truth dawns that the person behind the humiliation and destruction of Arjuns mother is their Grandfather Lala Yoddhraj (Anupam Kher).
The battle lines are drawn between Arjun & Vicky as well as their respective families. Vicky is unaware of the mental torture and humiliation his grandfather had subjected to Arjuns mother and how despite Arjun being the true their to Lala Yoddhrajs business empire he is made to live a life of a poor adopted child.
