Saat Rang Ke Sapne', is a romantic comedy, picturised against the breathtaking locales of Rajasthan and Tamilnadu.Mahipal (Arvind Swammy) is treated like a brother by his employer Bhanupratap (Anupam Kher) and his sister Yashoda (Farida Jalal). Mahipal and Bhanupratap once carry Jamila (Juhi Chawla) a dancer and her uncle (Satish Shah) in their cart for a dance show. Bhanupratap falls in love with Jamila and is under the misconception that she loves him too. They pick up a fight with local goons and in the ensuing melee, Mahipal escapes into the jungle with Jamila where after some comic adventures, they fall in love. Mahipal takes Jamila to Yashoda's house, where they pretend to be enemies. Bhanupratap gets ready to marry Jamila, oblivious of her love for Mahipal. Yashoda pleads with Mahipal to sacrifice his love, who weighed down by memories of the family's favours on him, agrees. Meanwhile Paungad (Govind Namdeo), a wily servant creates a rift between Mahipal and Bhanupratap. How the misunderstandings are cleared forms the rest of this colourful escapade.
