Synopsis A college professor (Amitabh Bachchan) lives with his younger brother (Randhir Kapoor) whom he loves very dearly. Captivated by his personality, an artist (Raakhee) marries the professor. The professor intervenes in a gang fight between his brother and a villain. In the ensuing scuffle, the professor is stabbed to death. Unable to bear the loss, the family moves out of the city. The younger brother takes up the job of a mechanic where he meets a gregarious young girl (Neetu Singh). Just as when life begins to change for the better, Randhir Kapoor gets a shock of his life when he sees a look alike of his dead brother. Randhir Kapoor immediately approaches the look alike and requests him to masquerade as his elder brother in order to pull his sister-in-law out of her trauma.
