Atmaram an utterly selfish man spends his entire salary on his own comforts and pleasures. He has two sons - Vijay, who is so much devoted to his father that he neglects his wife and son and Ravi who knows how selfish his father is and rebels against him. Ravi is in love with Radha and helps her to solve her problems. In his own house he tries to convince his father that one should carry oneÕs own burden of responsibilities. But Atmaram does not pay any heed and continues to exploit his elder son. Vijay overworks himself and one day he passes away. A shocked Atmaram realises the folly of his deeds. He tries to change but people do not believe him. But he gets a chance to redeem himself when VijayÕs son falls seriously ill. He works hard and risks his life to save the sick child and thus pays off his debt to his son.
