Akshay Kumar the son of a multi-millionaire arrives home from abroad. He is met by his parents and best friend Laxmikant with a great deal of rejoicing. He has come after a very long time. Laxmikant is a strange kleptomaniac for whom stealing is just a habit and a way of life. They go out to a disco and end up at a wedding.  Akshay sees a girl. Akshay finds her the prettiest of them all and falls for her. It is love at first sight. Akshay craves to see her. Love grabs him, grips him. . The next day Akshays father asks him to join him in his business. Akshay and Laxmikant work out a plan to hoodwink him and take off in Akshay private plane. The two are on a private mission to find the girl. Making her fall for him brings him close to her mother and they take a great liking for each other. Akshay and Karishma meet more often now and a time comes when Karishma also falls for him. A great love story takes shape gradually. The situations are not like the ones seen in so many love stories. . Back home, in Akshys home, they are very anxious uses all his whereabout of Akshay and Laxmikant. Akshays father uses all his contacts to find out where they are. The father and mother reach the place to find out how madly their son is in love with Karishma. They see their greatest joy in their only sons happiness. They call back home and ask them to make preparations for their sons wedding. They ask Akshay for the background of the girls family. Akshay tells them the girl just has a mother who is school teacher and is a widow. His parents say they would like to do and see her inspite of custom, tradition and their position in society. Akshay rushes to Karishmas house to tell her mother of the good news. The mother say it is her honour, her privilege. On the appointed day Akshay and his parents arrive at Tanujas house only to find the door locked. Akshay is stunned. His parents think it is an insult to them, a great humiliation to them. They ask Akshay to forget all about the girl and forcibly take him home. They think it is a closed chapter. . Akshay cannot live without seeing Karishma. He neglects himself and loses all interest in life. Karishma suffers the same pangs of love. The seperation is intolerable for the two lovers. Till one day Akshay runs away from home, goes to Karishmas house and confronts her mother and calls her a liar and an insult to her profession, a teacher. The next day he goes to the temple and what he sees shocks him. The mother who said she was a widow was dressed up like a woman with her sindoor in her hair. Akshay confronts her again, this time with greatest anger Till she is forced to come out with the truth. She takes him to jail and introduces him to her husband, Anupam Kher. He shocks him when she tells him how he was in jail because of his father. Akshay is desperate to know more. . The story unfolds. Anupam was working with his father in alarge compay dealing with spare parts for plane used in the army. Akshays father was in charge of quality control, the man who finally passed whatever spare parts were supplied. A time comes when Akshays father decides to supply some defected parts. Anupam resists it tooth and nail. Akshays father kidnaps Anupams little and only daughter and tells him take the charge on himself on he threatens to kill his daughter. Anupam is helpless. He takes the charge, is tried, proved guilty and sentenced rigorous imprisonment. The story stuns Akshay. It is too shocking to be true. . Akshay is changed man now, an angry young man. He decides to go all out to expose his fathers corrupt and nefarious activities. His father is surprised first. Then shocked about how the past comes back to punish him. He doesnt know who is behind this ruthless plan to ruin him. The wild man in him, goes into action. He orders his wild men to get the man who is doing this to him at any cost without known that he is ordering the elimination of his own son. The son however proves to tough and clever for the father. He forces him to surrender The case is opened up again. All the investigations, all the witness go against him. He is exposed. He can take it no longer. He crumble and falls and is rushed to hospital in a bad condition. . All along there is an evil force who is against the growing love story of Akshay and Krishma. He tries to take revenge now when Akshays father is in hospital. Akshays family is around his bed. In the distance they see Karishma coming in alone. They are surprised and embrassed. Karishma tells Akshays father that they have forgiven him and that they are withdrawing the case against him. She completes her sentence. Akshays father wants to say something. Suddenly he sees the villian and his wild men about to kill Karishma. He leaps out to his bed, fights the villian and his men and dies while saving Karishma and saving two lovers and their love for each other.
