APANAPAN is the story of nearness and understanding. Anil Mehra, in his early thirties, accidentally meets Radhika, and falls in love.Their relationship turns into a romance, leading upto marriage. But before marring, Anil confides that he is a divorcee and has a child of a five year old Prakash, who is studying in Srinagar. Radhika loves him so much that they go ahead with their marriage. The two of them decide to go to Kashmir to meet Prakash. Little Prakash is overjoyed to meet his father Anil and also accepts Radhika as her mother.One day Radhika meets Kamini who is now Mrs. Agarwal and they became very friendly. In the company of Radhika, she meets her son Prakash but dose not reveals that she is his mother. Kamini's husband is all the time busy earning money while She feels emptiness in her life after seeing the happy trio of Anil, Radhika and Prakash. Prakash meets an accident and is in need of blood, Kamini gives her blood and salves his life. But Anil,seeing the possibility of Kamini re-entering his life decides to leave Kashmir. Kamini is left alone on the crossroads of life and all the money in the world cannot compensate for the lack of "apnapan" that closeness with another soul, of which she has been deprived for ever !
