This could sum up the life of Aasha, a crooner who entertained the whole world, not ever allowing her audience to have ever seen a glimpse of her own yearnings and longings. She meets Deepak a truck driver three times, first at the roadside restaurant and discovers that he possesses a promising, melodious voice that tugs at her own heart strings. Second time he meets again at Kashmir, but shortly Deepak is married to Mala. Soon after their marriage Deepak goes South for long tour and while returning there is an accident to his truck. The news of his death reaches his newly-wed wife and she jumps in a river to end her life, but she is rescued by a sculptor. Deepak however is not dead, but he is shocked to know that his wife had committed suicide, and both of them believing the other to be dead. Mala loses her eyesight in the accident but a new light in the shape of her bouncing daughter who is born to her. Meanwhile, Deepak meets Aasha again, now that he is lonely and heartbroken, Aasha finds in him a willing object of her love, she persuades him to make use of his golden voice and with her inspiration, he turns into a great singer with wealth and fame. They decide to marry, but destiny had other plans for all of them. The child Deepmala won the heart of Aasha and she paid for successful eye operation of her mother. And when Deepak invited the child Deepmala to bring her mother to attend his wedding to Aasha, little did he know that he was inviting his first wife for his second marriage.
